Phishing Emails!

A word of caution! There’s bound to be an increase in the number of phishing and scam emails in the run up to Christmas. Beware emails supposedly from Amazon, Royal Mail and delivery companies. Don’t click on a link without careful thought!

Sponsor a Guide Dog puppy for Xmas

Christmas is an ideal time to support a charity and at Flashback we like to try and help Guide Dogs for the Blind.  They have a great gift catalogue called Dogalogue (dog not cat, geddit?) or you could sponsor a puppy this Xmas as the perfect gift for a friend or loved one.  They’ll receive regular ‘pupdates’ about their puppy’s progress! Working on the new website for Bensons cafe always made us feel hungry – delicious looking breakfasts, lunches and  afternoon teas!

Bensons is an award winning daytime eatery which has been serving the locals and visitors to Stratford upon Avon for over 20 years – just a minute’s walk from Shakespeare’s Birthplace.

Their new website reflects their recent refurbishment and re-branding.  Take a look at www.bensonsrestaurant.co.uk where you can download vouchers for 2 for 1 afternoon tea until the end of December.

Their £5 breakfasts are excellent value and include bottomless tea or coffee.

Christmas at the RSC

This year’s RSC family production is a new play called The Christmas Truce.  On Christmas Eve 1914, as the men of the Warwickshire regiment shelter in their trenches, something astonishing happens.  Across no-man’s land they hear music.

Inspired by real events of exactly 100 years ago, the RSC presents an uplifting new play for families celebrating a remarkable Christmas story.

The play runs from Nov 29 to Jan 31 and is recommended for ages 9+

Good Times

We drove down to Poole Harbour on Monday to meet up with Simon and Drenagh Wootton on their boat ‘Good Times’. It’s a luxury 50′ motor boat which offers cruises around Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island, Studland Bay and Swanage. The scenery is fabulous, the boat is lovely and Drenagh provided a delicious light lunch. It was a real highlight of our stay in the area – we loved it! They specialise in family get together and celebration cruises – birthdays, anniversaries, even the scattering of ashes.
