Mobilegeddon April 21st!

We’ve been busy this month developing mobile friendly websites for several clients. Google announced that from April 21st a website’s usability on mobile phones would be a more prominent part of their search algorithm and so the day was named Mobilegeddon with businesses worried they might drop down the Google rankings.

By some estimates, more than 60 percent of all Google searches are now performed on mobile devices, so it makes sense that Google wants to capitalize on this traffic and ensure the best possible experience for its users.

Monks’ Barn Farm, Stratford upon Avon

Monks’ Barn Farm has a great location just a mile or so south of Stratford upon Avon and I had the great pleasure of staying there for three nights this month.  It’s a proper farm and even though they were busy lambing while I was there, they were really kind and thoughtful hosts.  They’ve got lovely ensuite rooms, plenty of parking, helped me store my bike and make an excellent bacon sandwich for breakfast – you can of course have the full English!

Cycling News

On March 22nd, I was part of a group of Shipston Cycling Club who completed the 100k Meon Valley Spring Classic raising money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.  It was a lovely ride – sunshine, Cotswolds scenery and great support from the organisers.  Sponsored by The Cycle Studio in Stratford upon Avon, the ride set off from Meon Vale Leisure Centre and took in Broadway Tower, Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold and the very challenging Dover’s Hill.  It was the longest ride I’d done in a while – a really enjoyable experience.

Fulton Sound Studio, Leamington

Fulton Sound is a small, friendly studio based near Leamington Spa where Mark Fulton, a music producer, recording engineer and composer, specialises in working with singer/songwriters and instrumentalists who need either a straight recording or help with developing, arranging and getting a finished, polished product together.

He plays a range of instruments himself but can also provide other specialist session players as needed.  He works in a variety of genres, also composing original music and backing tracks for film and video – conferences, weddings, presentations etc.
