Birthplace Lightshow Stratford upon Avon
This Christmas 2013, a spectacular lightshow will be projected onto one of the world’s most famous buildings, William Shakespeare’s Birthplace on Henley Street. This will be the first time such an event has ever taken place in Stratford upon Avon – be sure not to miss it, so get the dates in your diary now and experience our historic town this Christmas.
Lightshow Premiere
The ‘Lightshow Premiere’ will be on Thursday 21st November 2013. It’s going to be an exciting evening on Henley Street in Stratford upon Avon.
- The Christmas Lights are being switched on in the town at 4.30pm
- The 3D Lightshow will be projected onto Shakespeare’s Birthplace at 5.45pm
- Shakespearean actors from the Birthplace will be performing in the street
- A local school choir will be singing Christmas Carols outside the Birthplace
- James Roe MBE and Jackie Horton from the Guide Dog’s Charity Shakespeare Puppies will be there for you to meet the puppies
- Santa Claus will be popping along from his grotto on Henley Street
- A stall selling warm Mulled Wine and Hot Chocolate will be available to keep you warm during the festivities
- A vast array of shops and eateries will be open during the evening
- Christmas Market on Henley Street
- Touch FM will be on Henley Street
Four Weeks of performances
The lightshow will then be shown four times every evening at 4.30pm, 5.00pm, 5.30pm and 6.00pm from Friday 22nd November until Thursday 19th December 2013. The actual show will last for about 5 minutes each time with other projections on the Birthplace playing in between performances.
